Located in the heart of Central Hong Kong, Be Earth Yoga was set to become the sanctuary so close yet feels the world away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
With the objective of building a sustainable yoga studio while providing a spiritual customer experience, one is greeted by a 4-metre high artificial skylight upon arrival with a leafy tree over shadowing the reception and waiting area. The floor is installed with natural bamboo with environmentally friendly paint and finishes throughout the space
A secret doorway opens up to an arched corridor with vaulted ceilings and natural bamboo flooring that leads to the 4 different classrooms and 2 changing rooms completed with rain showers and lockers.
Each of the yoga rooms are named after a different type of tree. One of them is Gingko, with the Gingko leaf shaped signage on the curved door leads you to a circular yoga room with a round artificial skylight that can be adjusted in colour and temperature according to mood A dozen of adjustable pivot translucent glass panels surround the room with live potted plants behind, allowing natural light and oxygen through and while providing privacy from the city outside.
PMDC was appointed as the interior and graphic designer of the project.
